We were lucky enough to catch this early screening at the Central Picturehouse previews all nighter. It was our second film of the night so it started at around 12:30am, and to say this film felt like a fever dream is an understatement.

 

I don’t understand how Jane Schoenbrun has done it for a third time in a row but they have, and exceeded our expectations in every single way possible. Following up “I saw the TV glow” was going to be no easy task. But Schoenbrun has expanded beautifully into a bold, extravagant, and vibrant new era of their filmmaking journey. Camp Miasma is a mix of everything you want out of a queer slasher film, this film oozes with technical genius, amazing performances and a soundtrack that makes me want to sob.

 

Jane Scheonbrun is lightning in a bottle, described by Margot as “The Lynch of our generation” (and I don’t think she’s wrong!) All eyes are on Schoenbrun for whatever they might do next. And exciting career ahead of them, we will wait for whatever they do next and eat it up.
